Tushaco External Gear Pumps

The Tushaco EG Series comprises robust, low pressure External Gear Pumps designed for transfer, booster and process applications. With a simple two-gear construction, these pumps deliver reliable performance and trouble free operation over the years.

How Does an External Gear Pump Move Liquids?

An External Gear Pump consists of two identical gears rotating in opposite directions and meshing with each other. One gear is driven by a motor, which in turn drives the other gear.

As the gear teeth come out of mesh at the inlet side, they create an expanding cavity, generating suction.

Liquid enters the pump and gets trapped in the spaces between the gear teeth and the pump casing.

The rotating gears carry the liquid around the inner surface of the casing from the inlet to the outlet.

As the gear teeth mesh again at the outlet side, the trapped liquid is displaced, creating pressure and forcing the liquid out of the pump.
