How Does an Internal Gear Pump Work?
Internal Gear pump is also a part of positive displacement pump.
The main pumping elements of internal gear pump are the smaller concentric rotor gear connected to the drive shaft and the idler placed eccentric to the smaller rotor supported by front cover with crescent shaped partition.
When the concentric smaller rotor rotates it engages with idler which creates the cavity which will be filled with fluid and sealed by crescent and when disengaged then sealed cavities get discharge.
This process delivers smooth, pulsation free and allows the internal gear pump to handle a versatile range of fluids.
