How Does a Triple Screw Pump Work?
A Triple Screw Pump consists of three screws—one power screw and two idler screws—precisely fitted within the finished bores of the pump housing or liner, depending on the pump construction.
The rotating power screw drives the two idler screws through the thin fluid film formed between the screw surfaces.
The power screw does not mechanically drive the idler screws.
The precisely engineered screw profiles create sealed cavities that trap the fluid and continuously carry it from suction to discharge, delivering smooth, quiet and pulsation-free pumping.
Hydraulic forces and the thin lubricating film of the pumped fluid cause the idler screws to rotate with minimal torque, thereby reducing friction and wear.
